Federal Way, WA, March 1, 2014– Dr. John Jarstad Adjunct Associate Professor, Pacific NW University Medical School and Medical Director Evergreen Eye Centers in the Seattle-Tacoma area, was recently honored as the “Distinguished International Speaker” at the 2014 Annual Jakarta Eye Center International Meeting held in Indonesia. Over 1500 eye surgeons from SE Asia and the Pacific Region were registered for this prestigious international meeting held annually in the capital of this SE Asia nation of over 250 Million people. “It was quite an honor for me to be invited to give lectures on “Bladeless Laser Cataract Surgery” and to be invited to perform live cataract surgery on an Indonesian patient with a cataract in front of the entire convention beamed onto a 60 foot screen,” stated Dr. Jarstad. “The surgery went extremely well and the patient was seeing quite clearly immediately following the operation,” Dr. Jarstad noted.
Following the the conference, Dr. Jarstad and his daughter Stephanie, a professional photographer, traveled to Manado in the north of Indonesia for additional lectures and to snorkel at the world renowned Bunaken Sea Gardens national park.
