Seattle, WA, June 23, 2014–Once again, Seattle Magazine’s Top Doctor award for ophthalmology goes to Dr. Chung of Evergreen Eye Center. Chosen by his peers, he is one of 437 doctors in the Puget Sound region to make the 2014 Top Doctor list from a variety of specialties. Dr. Chung is one of 7 doctors chosen in the category of (adult) ophthalmology.
Dr. Chung is a fellowship-trained specialist in cornea and external eye diseases, allowing him to offer patients expertise in managing diseases and disorders affecting the anterior segment of the eye. His surgical interests include bladeless laser cataract surgery, micro-incisional cataract surgery, corneal transplants, LASIK, IntraLase, and Visian Implantable Collamer Lens or ICL surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has participated in a number of research studies with several publications in ophthalmologic journals. He authored a chapter in the textbook Cornea, the most widely used textbook for corneal disorders. Dr. Chung was selected from an elite group of corneal specialists to participate currently in a multi-center, randomized, controlled evaluation of the safety and efficacy of the KXL system with VibeX (Riboflavin Ophthalmic Solution) for Corneal Collagen Cross-Linking in eyes with keratoconus or corneal ectasia after refractive surgery.
