In January, our employees voted on charities they’d like to support this year. From there, we determined the top five and decided to support these charities in a variety of ways.
(We’ll write a bit about each charity and what Evergreen employees are doing to give back as the year progresses.)
Our first charity is the National Kidney Foundation. We are sponsoring the 2017 Seattle Kidney Walk! The walk takes place on Sunday, March 26 at 10 a.m. at Safeco Field.
Our team captain is Amber Peninger, who is our scheduling center manager. She walks in memory of her father who passed away in 2016 from kidney failure.
We’re not only walking to support Amber and her family — but also for patients, families, and people everywhere at risk for this pernicious disease.
Kidney disease is a burden for millions — and many times it is preventable. We’re helping the NKF improve and extend people’s lives through our fundraising efforts.
