Federal Way, WA, March 5, 2014–Dr. Jarstad, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, Pacific NW University Medical School, was an invited lecturer and visiting-professor at the University of Indonesia in Jakarta during the month of February. Dr. Jarstad, a Seattle- Tacoma cataract surgeon, gave two lectures at the Department of Ophthalmology “Robotic Femtosecond Bladeless Cataract Surgery” and “Eyelid Plastic Surgery Cases – A 30 Year Review.” The residents and students in Jakarta were very up to date and extremely bright,” noted Dr. Jarstad. “They asked great questions and have a good understanding in ophthalmology.” Dr. Jarstad also presented a new TonoPen for checking eye pressure provided by LDS Charities, a complete set of textbooks donated by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, along with a Jarstad-Stone Teaching Head and Cataract Simulator for the University of Indonesia Practice Surgery Lab during his visit. It is Professor Jarstad’s 10th visit to Indonesia.
