Recently, our very own Dr. Robert A. Tester had the honor of being featured on a KING5 HealthLink segment. The story covered Evergreen Eye Center’s dropless cataract surgery.
Traditional cataract surgery often requires multiple eye drops after surgery. These eye drops have to be applied for weeks by the patient. Sometimes the process can be difficult for the patient so compliance and outcomes can vary.
Evergreen Eye Center uses a dropless method. During the procedure, our surgeon will administer a combination of antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medications directly to the eye. The eye will slowly absorb these medications in a time-release fashion, thus eliminating most people’s need for eye drops.
The story highlights patient Karen Monteverde’s experience with the procedure and how her life has changed since the surgery. To watch the story, you can find it here.
