FEDERAL WAY, WA, February 12, 2013– Evergreen Eye Center now performs bladeless cataract surgical procedures using LenSx laser technology. Evergreen’s practice manager Rick Boudreau said, “Evergreen Eye Center is the only clinic providing this revolutionary technology in Washington state.” The new LenSx laser is FDA approved and was installed at Evergreen Eye Center’s Federal Way ambulatory surgery center the first week of February 2013.

Using highly advanced technology to capture extremely precise, high-resolution digital images of the eye, Drs. John Jarstad, Robert Tester, Gary Chung and Linda Day can now plan and perform cataract surgery to customized specifications that were previously unachievable. Bladeless laser cataract surgery with the LenSx femtosecond cataract laser has significantly improved the precision of several of the most critical steps that were traditionally performed manually. The precisely reproducible steps performed by the laser means better IOL placement within the eye, less trauma to the eye, and more predictable visual results which are especially important with Premium IOLs.
Dr. Tester stated, “Bladeless laser cataract surgery can be performed on our cataract patients that choose to have their astigmatism corrected or that choose to have one of our premium IOLs. The procedure takes only 15 to 20 minutes.”
